Another fantastic novel. A love story from World War Two, the romance, history, and twist in the plot keeps the reader on the edge of their seat. Unfortunately, having previously seen the movie, I knew what happened. However, the novel far exceeds the movie. McEwan (a literary genius), cleverly incorporated select characters' points of views into the novel and made their roles so intricate and real. We could feel Cecilia falling in love with Robbie, for we were her, and then suddenly we were Briony, telling lies and hurting everyone we loves. Sometimes I would have to put the book down I couldn't bear to see what would happen next. But I would have to start it again immediately because it was so incredible. The description of World War II and Dunkirk was riveting and Robbie and Cecelia’s love story was suspenseful. This novel was descriptive, entertaining, and thought-provoking and I recommend it to all.
