I really liked this book. For all of the changes happening in a growing country, a lot of people are left behind. I think that this book captures the essence of people who are left on the outskirts socially, by religon, and by economics. I didn't like the main character, but I could see why he did what he did. If he had not taken the actions he did, he would have been left behind.

Excellent Young Adult fantasy that has aged very well.
