Great read about how one man took his Buddhist (Zen) religion and put it into serious, social-changing action. The Zen nuggets of information are excellent for those of us unfamiliar.
At a cafe table in Lahore a bearded Pakistani accosts an uneasy American stranger and tells him the story of his life. But as dusk deepens to night it becomes clear that this is no chance encounter.
I have changed my review mostly because of recent input by a priest form Rome who was Mother Teresa's confessor. He not only doesn't like this book but requests that none of the misionaries of charity read it. It is not part of their recommended reading. I have to respect his better understanding of Mother Teresa and what she really felt.
An extremly good read! Amazing ly real life scenarios that show that everyone does it, thinks it or wants to do it. A must read for any and everyone
Every word seems perfectly chosen...I love the language in this novel.
