Pretty good book. It was all well layed out in the original trilogy, so there werent much in the way of surprises, but all in all still good stuff. I liked it, but it would have been better to read this title before the rest of the original Shannara trilogy.

I bought this because it was $1.99 for a Kindle download. This was soooo good. It's the first in a series, which is about to be turned into a TNT drama this summer. It had suspense. It builds relationships, both romantic and work-related. All loose ends are tied up. It gives you all you could want. I loved it so much, I'm moving on to the 2nd book. The series is called Rizzoli and Isles. Isles, a forensic pathologist, is not a character yet in this book. Rizzoli, a homicide detective, plays a major part, but she is not the central figure. This first book, if I had to compare, would be a cross between "Silence of the Lambs" and "CSI" mixed with a little cop drama and a splash of hospital trauma. Just read it! It's a page turner. Warning: "The Surgeon" might not be for the faint at heart. Maybe I'm a little sick myself, because these sort of books do not affect me.
