Good read; entertaining and holds your interest...backstory to the legend. If you like historical fiction, you'll love Margaret George's books. This is the second one of hers I've read and I'll definitely read others.
** spoiler alert ** I highly recommend this amazing book! Written by a woman, but from the point of view of a 12-year-old boy with autism, I wondered how believable it would be. But the author did an incredible job of getting inside the mind of this character, at least as much as I can envision the mind of an autistic youth. As the mother of an almost-8-year-old boy with autism, I found it very touching, profound and poignant. I worry for my son, even now, but especially as he gets older, if he will have any friends, if he will have a girlfriend, all the things a mother wants for her son. Some parts of this book were heartbreaking to me. But others were truly uplifting. All were very eye-opening. I was especially glad that his mother finally seemed to come to terms with his disability -- AND his many abilities. Her attitude at the beginning of him being broken and her trying to fix him really bothered me. It truly is a wonderful book and I would highly recommend it to anyone, especially those with an autistic child in their lives!
I cannot begin to state how amazing this book is. Just read it.
