I've never really enjoyed science fiction, but maybe I just wasn't reading the good stuff. Parable of the Talents was published in 1998, but 2009 is a particularly appropriate time to read it (pre-election 2008 would probably have been the best time, but that would have scared me a bit too much). Frightening, very creative, rich language, plus it features a strong female as the main character-which I love to see.
This was an interesting book. The relationship of the two couples was very cool and could be realistic. Sometimes adult people enjoy other adults in such a close relationship. There are always comings and goings in life. This book has coming and going and coming back again.
A quick holiday story - a sweet reminder about being selfless and hospitable during the holiday season!
