I saw bits & pieces of this movie when it first came out & very recently picked the play up at a library sale. I was prompted to read it because of a book club I am part of - we were challenged to read outside our normal genre. Scripts are unique in that they require so much more from their reader. You have to consider the stage directions very seriously & put real effort into envisioning the playwright’s vision. Equus was so well done that I found I was flying through the reading of this script. Visions of stables, god-like horses and the repressed were easy to conjure. I think this subject could easily have been offered up for the voyeuristically depraved, however, the inclusion of the psychologist's own suffering makes for an interesting psychological study.

Ah, Murakami. This was one of his more enjoyable (and by that I mean understandable) novels. Not that I don't think he's a genius. After all, the line 'twix genius and insanity runs thin, and he positively frolicks back and forth. Crazy man. But a great read nonetheless.

Really good story! It was nice to see what happened to Cassie and to see that in the long run every thing worked out for the best. This one had way more action than the others but not as much romance. I have thoroughly enjoyed this series and I hope the author will continue with Sam's story!

I think Dave Eggers is a good guy... he started this Superhero store in Brooklyn that taught me to read. However, he should not be allowed to 1.Write books about his life 2.Be allowed to name his own books Small parts of this book are touching and meaningful other parts are annoying and meaningless... the latter outwieghs the prior. An overwhemingly piece of narcissist crap doesn't cut it. Plus I've grown to hate people who include this on their favorite books of like, oh my god, all time lists. Paris Hilton listed this and "Showing vag and being famous 101" as her favorite all-time reads. Basically this guy has become standard reading for the Coldplay fraternity set.
