Well, before reading this book, I read a lot of pretty ugly reviews and was really apprehensive about reading it, but decided to give it a try. It wasn't as bad as many reviews made it out to be, but I have to say, I was looking forward to it ending, and it is very likely I will not go on and read the sequels. One positive I must say is that Lauren Kate writes beautiful prose. Some of the sentences were like chocolate marshmallows to my brain, sweet and fluffy, but in a good way. The problem, though, was that it felt like it seemed to take forever to anything to really happen in this book,,, and as soon as it did, it was over! I just didn't really believe the relationship between Luce and Daniel. yes, I know he is an angel and all, what's to believe? But, as a reader, I should be feeling what Luce is feeling, attraction, desire, passion and nope, didn't feel any of it. So, all in all, not a horrible book, and I'm glad I read it. I enjoyed the prose, but think the story needed a bit more development. Maybe Kate will give that to us in the next two books, but I won't be reading them anyway.
