Pretty good story. From back cover: "A starter marriage hadn't been the first act Mary Ellen Black had meant to script for herself, but bowing out provided hard-won perspective: The most important things in life were not things at all, but the people she held dear. In her case, the lovable eccentrics she called family, the ones who were more than ready to support her leading role-if only she'd step into the spotlight. So now Mary Ellen's drafted act two-her return home-and she's pretty sure she's ready for the performance of Her Life, starring a strong, single mother of two. She's all dressed up and ready to take on the world...and take back the woman she was meant to be."

Wonderful book, but I couldn't stop crying! Definitely have a box of tissues with you.

A quick read... standard Grisham... focused on the death penalty. Fun to read!

great book. my favorite o'brien war story (story that takes place in Nam, as opposed to about characters after Nam). i havent read the things they carried in a while, but i dont remember it being nearly this good. it is a war story. that may seem like a simple statement but would make more sense if you had read the book. this book follows spec four Paul Berlin (i cant decide if he has a pooping of peeing his pants problem) and the rest of the guys in his unit as the chase down Cacciato after he decides to leave the war and walk Paris. The run into a bunch of adventures and have to deal with the issues of deserting, returning, life, death, following orders, peace, motives. its an awesome book. really well written ending. i cant decide if it is sad, disappointing (in the action of the characters not in the quality of the ending), funny, or just another war story. it is classic O'Brien.

This is a great book in the classic Sci Fi genre. The story carries well from start to finish ; and some of the ideas are quite novel indeed.
