A definite page-turner! Great plot, interesting characters and a setting which is so vivid, Ms. Hough placed me right in the middle of the action throughout.
Spooky junior high read that never really scared kids off of drugs.

I read this book out loud to my 8 year old and 5 year old. They both enjoyed it but it was almost too much for my 5 yr old. I could tell that she would become lost in the story so I would stop and tell her what was going on. I plan to read the rest of the series to them. I am going to try to find them with more pictures so she can stay up with it a little better. I could see this being one that we read again in a few years. What I liked was that it is fantasy but it is not terribly scary.
