I thought this book was interesting, but could have been more engaging. The Courtesan world in Italy was fascinating, and could have been further developed. I wouldn't really recommend this book - not much of a page turner for me. But it was really nice to read some fiction and not text books!
Wonderful Wonderful Book!!! This isn't simply a story, it is an entire journey in the land of Zamonia. I would recommend this to anyone who has a large imagination. The story is exactly what the title states, the 13 1/2 lives of Captain Bluebear and it is bound to be one of the most imaginative 13 1/2 lives ever. If you enjoy the imagination of child lit or just getting lost in a new world this really is a book for you. I can't wait to finish the rest of the stories of Zamonia, but I know for sure that Bluebear is most likely going to be my favorite character of them all. Hope you enjoy.
