It's 2007. Kesey was racist. Get over him. And why does this read exactly the same as all your other books
It's been a while since I read this and I was probably a bit young at the time, but I remember I enjoyed it.
When I picked up this book, I assumed that it was pop-academia-- you know, something pretending to be informative or have a serious argument when it was actually researched on Google. But I was actually pleasantly surprised-- Heins makes a clear argument against censorship that's well-researched both in terms of case law and wider cultural issues. There are a couple strident soapbox calls to action that I could have lived without, and a couple places that she rehashes the same argument once too many, but in general, I both enjoyed reading it and learned something. Three cheers.
