I found this book to be critical in terms of understanding the working procedures of foreign economic policy. The authors first hand experience involving key decisions that have shaped the U.S.'s dominance around the world is invaluable. This is one of the guy's responsible for the relationship between the Saudis and the U.S. In here he recounts all the nitty gritty details of that experience involving bribery, prostitution, and the funneling of money into U.S. treasury bonds. Overall I found this book to be a good concomitant to other books on foreign economic policy. I recommend reading this one along side Joseph Stiglitz's "Globalization and its Discontents."
