So far this is amazing; I'm nearly done. Whenever I start a Kingsolver, I end up wanting to read it constantly. Not cute and sweet, but always deep, thoughful, and sometimes a a little scary.

Epstein writes beautifully, and has a canny sense of what an "essay" is and can be.
