great book. it made me happy
It's a fun urban Indiana Jones kind of main character. Good quick read.
I can't rate it until I see if it works!
I love the beginning of the book, which chronicles Michael Milken's rise from relative rags to ridiculous riches. The middle is way too dry and detail-oriented to be interesting to anyone but the most finance savvy.
This book really upset me a lot. In the end, I guess I loved it, but it was pretty hard-going there for a while. (Er. Not to take a romance novel too seriously, or anything. Ahem.)
Quite, quite the odd book. Distinctive narrative style, gray-toned characters, surreal. Almost Kafka-esque and Burton-ish in its dark appeal. Read when you have a lot of time on your hands 'cos it'd need a bit of sitting down and thinking through.
